We understand that it may be easy for you to overlook these guidelines but understanding these guidelines is crucial because, by using our services, you agree to the terms set forth within them.
Each registered user will be given a username and password that can be used to access the HPC master node.
Users must acknowledge the INSPEM HPC for any form of publication resulting from work done on INSPEM HPC. Suggested text: “The author(s) would like to acknowledge the Institute for Mathematical Research, Universiti Putra Malaysia for the provision of computational resources.”
To provide optimum computational resource allocation for all users, for any given job submission, the maximum job duration is 7 days.
For new software installation, users must ensure that it is compatible with Linux, command-line interface (CLI) based and open-source (preferable).
Users are required to routinely monitor their data storage and remove unnecessary data whenever possible. HPC is not a long-term data storage space. Users are also advised to back up all works in their personal storage.
Users SHALL NOT:
Execute or run anything on head node.
Run interactive jobs. All works should be submitted as a SLURM job using job scripts from the head node to compute nodes.
Engage in activities (e.g.: download/ install/ run certain software) that can compromise the INSPEM HPC security.
A job should be distributed across multiple available nodes using a fraction of the processing power i.e. users should not configure their work to run in a way that it will fully utilise a single node.
Users must agree and comply with all the terms and conditions of INSPEM HPC usage.
